Project management plays a fundamental part in effectively address the challenges of rapid change such as demographics, restructuring, policy, technological advances, political change, ethical issues, succession planning, and more.
The Graduate Diploma in Project Management and Organizational Leadership is a one year program designed to provide you with the leading-edge instruction in project management best practices, project leadership, team dynamics, and project negotiations. The program also focuses on providing you with a leadership framework to help you to implement innovation in both the strategy and culture of your organization.
The Graduate Diploma is an 18-credit course delivered on campus, and each course credit represents approximately 33 hours of effort unless specified otherwise. Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management or the Graduate Certificate in Management and Leadership may wish to further their learning and transfer credits to the diploma.
Who it’s for
This diploma program is for mid- to senior-level professionals, like yourself, working in organizations in all sectors who wish to expand their knowledge, skills, strategies, and expertise in the area of leadership and project management.
You’ll have completed a four-year undergraduate degree in arts, business, or environmental studies (or other acceptable alternatives, including either a master or doctoral level degree), plus have some related experience, typically at least two years of work in relevant leadership, management, communication, training, marketing, or consultant roles.
If you don’t meet the standard admission requirements, you may still apply. You’ll be assessed based on your professional experience and both your formal education and informal learning, following the Flexible Admission Policy.
At the end of your program, you’ll have a solid foundation in the necessary skills required to be more effective at managing projects and programs while leading self, teams, and organizations. You’ll have the confidence and know-how to work creatively and collaboratively, and understand how to create, manage, implement and account for strategic solutions that advance your organization.
Upon completion of this diploma program, you may apply credits towards a variety of degree programs at Royal Roads, such as our MBA in Executive Management, MA in Tourism Management, and MA in Interdisciplinary Studies programs. The tuition will be adjusted accordingly.
