Getting to Greater Victoria

Royal Roads University is located in Colwood, BC, a city in the region of Greater Victoria on Vancouver Island.

You can travel to Greater Victoria by plane or by ferry from mainland BC or Washington.

Arriving by ferry

From Vancouver, BC

The most common way to travel to and from Vancouver on the mainland is by ferry, operated by BC Ferries. The crossing takes about one hour and 35 minutes.

The ferry runs between Tsawwassen, south of Vancouver, and arrives in Swartz Bay, north of Victoria.

You'll need to arrange your own transportation to and from the ferry terminals. You can drive your car on the ferry, walk on as a foot passenger or take a bus.

The BC Ferries Connector is a coach bus that will transport you to and from downtown in Vancouver and Victoria with a few stops in between. You can board the connector before you get on the ferry or buy a ticket once you're on board.

From Seattle, Washington

You can travel to and from downtown Seattle in the United States by ferry. The crossing takes about three hours.

You'll take a different ferry than the one you take to Vancouver. The ferry terminal in Victoria is downtown on the Inner Harbour.

You'll need to arrange your own transportation to and from the ferry terminals. You can't bring your car on this ferry. You can only walk on as a foot passenger.
