About the campus

It's a National Historic Site with a castle — and a setting for more than a few feature films, such as X-Men and Deadpool.

Our physical Royal Roads University campus is 25 minutes from Downtown Victoria, BC on the traditional Lands of the Lekwungen-speaking Peoples, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.

Students study throughout the gardens. Research is conducted in living laboratories. Classes are indoors and out.

Our world-renowned gardens and hiking trails are free and open to everyone.

Creatures abound. And not just our resident peacocks. Bees buzz in the apiary and community food garden. And the shallow tidal waters of the Esquimalt Lagoon make it one of the top birding spots on the Island.

We are committed to being a great host. To welcoming everyone and creating a sustainable and inclusive environment that enhances Indigenous culture and respects traditional knowledge.
