Studying at Royal Roads

Review the information for incoming exchange students to see the dates of each program's terms, language requirements, contact information and more.

Step 1: Eligibility

This exchange program is open to international students who are studying at one of Royal Roads' partner universities.

  1. Contact the international office at your home university to find out if your school has an exchange partnership with Royal Roads. If our universities don't have an exchange partnership, you can apply to spend a semester at Royal Roads as a visiting student.
  2. Check that you meet the admission requirements of the Royal Roads program you'd like to take courses in.
  3. Check that you meet Royal Roads' English language requirements.

Step 2: Nomination process

Speak with your home university about studying at Royal Roads on a student exchange.

If you meet your home university's requirements, your school will nominate you to study at Royal Roads.

Step 3: Applying to Royal Roads

Once your home university nominates you, we'll email you an application package for you to submit to Royal Roads.

We'll also send you information about courses you can take while you're studying with us.

The application package includes:

  • application form
  • proof of English language proficiency
  • academic transcripts
  • statement of intent
  • résumé

Once we've reviewed your application, we'll email you to let you know if you've been accepted to study at Royal Roads.

Step 4: Before you arrive

Before arriving at Royal Roads, you'll need to take care of these items:

  1. Tuition and fees
You'll pay tuition to your home university, but you'll have to pay Royal Roads' ancillary fees. We'll send you an invoice by email before you arrive.
  2. Housing, visas, insurance
Review information for incoming exchange students for guidance on where to live, how to apply for a visa and where to buy insurance.

We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful campus.
