Trisha Sarker is the executive director of the Fitness Industry Council of Canada. She is an accomplished business communications and media relations professional with a proven track record of influencing public opinion, policy and legislative changes across Canada. Sarker is also an instructor at MacEwan University in Edmonton, teaching Advanced Business Writing and Communication in Human Interaction. She is a student mentor in the Professional Field Placement program. A classically trained Bharatanatyam dancer, Sarker has performed professionally across Canada, the United States and India. She teaches and choreographs various dance styles for the City of Edmonton’s Fine Arts program. As a teacher, she is always searching for the best way to communicate to students; as a choreographer, she endeavours to think outside the box to create fresh presentation ideas and approaches; and as a performer, she displays confidence and passion in her work. Sarker holds a Master of Arts in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University (2012) and a Bachelor of Communications in Professional Writing from MacEwan University (2009).
