Update on Student Services
These are interesting and unprecedented times! As we transition to being fully online, we thought we would share a bit about what is happening within Student Services.
Career Learning and Development has been working very closely with our academic units to continue support for internships and academic work terms. Together they are finding ways to adapt and be flexible to support the success of the students in their unique work term journey. All students are highly encouraged to contact their CLD Advisor with concerns regarding work term hours, layoffs and challenges.
Team Coaches continue to support student teams in the online learning environment by hosting online team development sessions and team meetings as well as providing individual coaching where there are struggles to collaborate in these challenging times. Additionally, there is a great website full of team resources for faculty and students at teamswork.royalroads.ca
Accessibility Services, Financial Aid and Awards, International Student Support, Indigenous Student Support, Counsellors and Learning Strategy Support and general Student Engagement are all actively supporting students with individual advising sessions. For more information on booking an appointment through libcal, click here. Accessibility Services is also working directly with students who have registered accommodations that are switching from on-campus to online learning environments, as their accommodations may be adjusted.
Student Engagement and Student Success are working together to deliver online programming that addresses social, emotional, physical and intellectual health, and that offers a range of engagement from individual reflection to creative collaboration. Counselling has hosted their second COVID-related online discussion group and the Recreation Centre launched its first online class this week.
There is more to come! Stay tuned for more information and a schedule of events.
