Chris McIntosh is a registered advanced care paramedic in Alberta and is the provincial director of EMS Health, Wellness and Culture at Alberta Health Services. He leads a wide portfolio with the primary function of establishing initiatives that advance paramedic wellness. McIntosh is a former flight paramedic and has 10 years of experience supporting initiatives including curriculum development, project management, strategic planning and employee leadership in a non-clinical leadership role with Emergency Medical Services.

Understanding the importance of organizational culture in the development of a psychologically safe workplace, McIntosh is pursuing a Doctor of Social Sciences to advance understanding of how culture is perpetuated through semiotic texts, and how meaning-making evolves within a workforce of paramedics.

McIntosh holds a Master of Arts in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University (2016) and received the Chancellor’s Award upon convocation
