Supporting Indigenous Leaders and Raising Awareness

Niels Agger-Gupta, Catherine Etmanski, and Cheryl Heykoop developed a series of virtual workshops to enhance faculty’s capacity to engage in reconciliation and decolonization in the classroom.

The School of Leadership Studies (SLS) supports RRU’s Diversity Statement and actively strives “to increase understanding, appreciation, and engagement with each other.”1 As core faculty and program administrators in the SLS, we strive to support Indigenous students’ success and have initiated several projects to this end. The purpose of this proposal is to promote equity related to RRU’s commitment to Indigenous peoples.2 This series of virtual workshops will draw on contemporary thought leadership to enhance faculty’s capacity to engage in reconciliation and decolonization in the classroom and RRU community.
