Environmental Entrepreneurship & Microfranchising

Geoffrey Archer was awarded a Research and Professional Development grant to present on environmental entrepreneurship and on the microlending model at two conferences.

In August, I am co-presenting “Value Creation through Environmental Entrepreneurship” at the Academy of Management meeting in Seattle, WA. This published work (2022) describes three sources of entrepreneurial opportunity that arise from economic market failure. This session has already been accepted but not yet scheduled.
In September, I aim to co-lead a workshop, “Revisiting the Promise of Microfranchising” at the Social Enterprise Summit in Cochabamba, Bolivia. This working session will invite academics and practitioners to collaboratively discuss the prospects and drawbacks of this novel evolution of the microlending model. This session has been submitted to the conference organizers.
