"As we enter the Fall, we begin another MEM residency, September 30th to October 18th, 2019. Responding to a program review, we will be revising our three residencies to reflect and integrate the grand challenges modern society is facing, two of which are climate pollution and biodiversity loss. We will be exploring ways in which we can meaningfully bring Indigenous ways of being into our curriculum. In spite of the messy wicked problems we are facing, there are so many innovations—technological and social—happening on the ground in Canadian communities and internationally upon which we will also be focusing.

We hope that our alumni, associates and current students will bear with us as we move forward. There will be some exciting announcements forthcoming this year for School of Environment and Sustainability (SES), and I am honoured to be directing the school during this time. Please drop by our Sherman Jen building and explore our interactive website and new artwork in our offices on the ground floor. As well, there is no step too small, so please support us in our efforts to be the first paperless school at RRU."
