Knowledge mobilization: Communication engagement and social adjustment of international students

Dr. Du received Research for Professional Development funds to explore the social and cultural adjustment experiences of international students, comparing their experiences during and after COVID-19.

It has become imperative to capture those lived stories of international students amidst a global pandemic, to understand what they feel about their entire experiences of studies and life during these unprecedented times. The learning of these experiences will help deepen our understanding of social and cultural adjustment of international students. The knowledge mobilization plan includes data visualization and a workshop to present research findings with multimedia tools. It helps to inform higher education institutions, settlement service agencies and policy makers to provide most needed resources, services and infrastructure during and after COVID-19, and in turn, support and enhance the experiences of international students.
