War Memory Documentary (Ways We Remember War) editing

Dr. Bird received Research for Professional Development funds to complete additional editing of his film.

The 90-minute documentary, Ways We Remember War, explores the influence of one particular episode in the First World War and how it continues to shape how Canadians memorialize and commemorate the First World War. To date, the film includes eight interviews and eight distinct themes or chapters related to the contemporary landscape, art, poetry, memorials and pilgrimage.

The COVID-19 pandemic prevented Dr. Bird from travelling to complete the documentary. This led to redirecting the production of the film, leading to more editing. The new completion date is Fall 2022.
