The Wayne Strandlund Award for Indigenous and Metis Student is an endowment fund created to help support Indigenous students through financial barriers. In many instances, this award means the difference for many deserving lifelong learners in their ability to complete their Royal Roads education.

Mr. Strandlund was the former chancellor and chair of Royal Roads Board of Governors, a life-long learner and generous donor to Royal Roads University. He repeatedly inspired and empowered students, faculty and staff to take meaningful steps towards a more equitable and inclusive university. His commitment to Royal Roads University, to the land on which we work and live, and to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people continues to be an inspiration for so many here at Royal Roads and across our community.
