Lived Experience Informed Education, Research, Leadership, and Practice

Dr. Heykoop used a Research and Professional Development grant to examine the relationship between lived experiences and responsive education, research, leadership, and practice.

How can one’s lived experiences inform education, research, leadership and practice? Through targeted professional development and research opportunities I seek to explore how experiential, embodied, soul-centric leadership practices can support and equip leaders (students, scholars, and practitioners) to navigate the complex realities of the world today. I also seek to explore how the intentional sharing of one’s lived experiences with adversity (e.g. war, conflict, disaster, chronic illness) can inform more responsive education, research, leadership, and practice.
