Susan Tinker

Susan Tinker has worked in many aspects of public relations and corporate communications including internal communication, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management. With a background in journalism and communication, she has experience working as an employee in large corporations, small start-ups, PR agencies and government and not-for-profit organizations. Tinker has also worked as a consultant in the fields of communication, business planning and public sector procurement.

Experience

Tinker’s career path started as a reporter for local newspapers in Saskatchewan. After a few years of gaining invaluable experience in the media, she returned to school and transitioned into the world of public relations and corporate communications. Her clients and employers have included Telus, the University of Calgary, the Calgary Health Trust, GPC International, the Alberta Electric System Operator. 

After completing her MBA, Tinker moved into some challenging and rewarding roles in the private sector and the public sector.  She wrote business plans for start-ups at a Calgary-based venture capital firm and then moved to a position with a fledgling Crown Corporation in British Columbia.  At Partnerships BC, she expanded her experience to include knowledge management, policy development, benchmarking and best practices, public sector procurement and management and leadership roles.
