Dr. Sandra Sellick’s early research and teaching interests focused on the development of literacy skills from Kindergarten to Grade 12 environments. Sellick focused on the efficacy of staff development approaches such as teacher study groups, communities of practice and networks of inquiry. These interests were later complemented by a focus on proactive measures to reduce bullying in Kindergarten to Grade 12 populations. Her current focus is on evaluation methods, engaged action research and the development of instructional resources to enhance academic writing.
Experience
Sellick served as a school principal for almost 25 years. She has taught for the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan School of Education as an adjunct professor and for Royal Roads University’s School of Leadership Studies as an associate faculty member since 2003.
Sellick has worked as an evaluation consultant in private practice since 2012. Through service leadership, she has contributed to organizations such as BC’s Network of Performance-based Schools, the Okanagan’s Young Authors Conference, the International Reading Association’s Central Interior Council, Stop a Bully and the Canadian Evaluation Society.
Sellick is credentialed as an Evaluator by the Canadian Evaluation Society (2014).
