Bio (Kaveh Sarmast)
Kaveh Sarmast has taught cooperative theory and management, entrepreneurship, development studies and political economy at Allameh Tabatabaei University (ATU) and the University of Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (UWRS) in Tehran and in several other institutes of higher education in Iran’s capital from 2005 to 2013.
Sarmast conducted a research fellowship at the Center for Cooperative and Community-Based Economy (CCCBE) at the University of Victoria and has taught for UVic’s Faculty of Continuing Studies.
He was the chair of the Iranian Association of Graduates in Economics from 2008 to 2013, and played a vital role in the development of the community, participating in many seminars on Iranian and global economic issues.
As CEO of Management Superior Systems Co. Ltd. (ManSupSys), Sarmast offered professional research, training and business consulting services in organizational development, strategic management, marketing and human resources management and leadership. He also holds expertise and offers training and instruction in international management standards in quality, safety and occupational health, environment, business continuity, corporate social responsibility, and risk and asset management. Sarmast has designed and instructed more than 200 workshops and training courses.
Sarmast holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Belgrade (2009). His dissertation examines new trends in the international co-operative movement. He also holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University Of Belgrade (1993), and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Sociology and History from Bangalore University (1984).
