Angela Whitney is an associate faculty member in the School of Business and teaches emotional intelligence in the Master of Business Administration program. She brings over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and leadership in healthcare, manufacturing and public safety organizations. She has a passion for enhancing leadership capability through the development and application of emotional intelligence in leaders and teams.  



In addition to teaching at Royal Roads University, Whitney holds a senior leadership position at the Town of Okotoks with accountability for Human Resources, Community Engagement, Legislative & Policy Services and Information Technology. As part of this role, Whitney works with individual leaders and teams to increase their individual and collective emotional intelligence. Prior to working for the Town of Okotoks, Whitney worked in a variety of HR and operational leadership roles in healthcare, manufacturing and policing. These positions included accountability for strategic business partnering, employee and labour relations, collective bargaining, change management, talent development, disability management, HR administration and strategic planning.
