Webinar

Online

Join us on November 12 for a thought-provoking webinar with Dr. Liton Chakraborty, Adjunct Faculty Member, York University.

Presented by the RRU's Disaster and Emergency Management program, this session will explore patterns of distributive environmental justice in Canada through the lens of multi-hazard and environmental risk.

Learn about how climate-related and environmental risks—such as floods, wildfires, and earthquake—disproportionately impact marginalized communities, including Indigenous peoples, low-income households, and racialized populations.

Drawing on current research and case studies, the talk will highlight spatial and systemic inequities in risk exposure, access to resources, and recovery capacities.

The session invites discussion on how data-driven analysis and inclusive policy design can help address environmental injustices and build resilience across diverse Canadian communities.
