Collaborative assignments are rich learning opportunities—but they can also surface challenges related to communication styles, role expectations, time management, and urgency. These differences often reflect the diverse cultural, professional, and cognitive backgrounds of today’s learners.
For neurodiverse students, these challenges can be compounded by sensory overload, ambiguous instructions, and unclear course design—making it harder for them to fully engage and demonstrate their learning.
In this engaging session with the Master of Arts in Learning and Technology at Royal Roads University—you’ll explore strategies to design learning experiences that are not only inclusive, but also empowering.
We’ll introduce a practical approach to conducting a neuroinclusivity audit, and share specific, actionable course design strategies that promote clarity, flexibility, and care, particularly in collaborative environments where cognitive and social demands are high.
Who should attend:
Instructors, instructional designers, and educational leaders who want to create more accessible, inclusive, and effective learning environments for all students.
