Experience the tradition of Día de Muertos at Royal Roads University as we honor life, memory, and culture through color, food, and stories. All students are invited to join this cultural celebration and learn about the meaning behind this beautiful Mexican tradition. 

Dates & Location: 

  • Oct 29 - Nov 04: Cultural display at the Sequoia Building Main Floor, featuring vibrant decorations, message cards, and stories that reflect the spirit of Día de Muertos. Visitors can also enjoy Coco-inspired clips, traditional music, and photos capturing the joy of last year’s Día de los Muertos celebration. 
  • Nov 4 at noon: Join us again for traditional Mexican food, adding flavour and festivity to the celebration. 

What to Expect: 

  • Cultural Display: Explore colorful elements like marigolds, skulls, and papel picado that tell the story of remembrance and renewal. 
  • Story and Symbolism: Learn about the deep meaning of Día de Muertos and how it celebrates the connection between life and memory. 

  • Message Cards: Share your thoughts and memories by writing messages to loved ones on colorful cards. 

  • Traditional Food Experience: Enjoy authentic tastes that bring people together and make the celebration come alive.
