The David Harris Flaherty Scholarship has been established to assist Royal Roads students in the Doctor of Social Sciences program. David Flaherty was recognized in 2015 with the RRU Chancellor's Community Recognition Award and is a committed philanthropist in the Victoria community. His academic background and belief in the importance of scholarship and academic excellence, and his deep commitment to giving back to his community inform this award.
Eligibility
- enrolled in the Doctor of Social Sciences program
- demonstrates academic excellence (min 3.67/4.33)
- articulates in the application essay how their academic work will impact their community of interest
- preference for a student in their first year of study, but all DSocSci students with strength in the above criteria are encouraged to apply.
How to apply
- this In-Course Award is open to students who are (or will be) active in their program on the deadline date
- pending the availability of funding, the competition will run annually from June 1st to August 1st (closes 11:59pm RRU time)
- applications are submitted online through MyAdmin. A full list of awards in competition will be viewable upon login
- address eligibility criteria for all awards of interest in that competition one one-page essay with your name in top margin
