Sookmyung Women’s University (SWU)

About

Founded in 1906, Sookmyung Women’s University (SWU) is Korea’s first royal private educational institution for women. The name “Sookmyung” comes from the ancient characters meaning “elegant” and “bright.” In 2009, SWU became Korea’s first university to operate a Reserve Officers' Training Corps program for women. Although a women’s university, student exchange is open to all genders. Located in the Yongsan neighbourhood in central Seoul, the SWU campus is the perfect blend between nature and urban landscape.
