This course introduces you to the fundamental principles and processes of financial accounting used to record, summarize, and report an organization’s financial activities. You will learn how to prepare and interpret key financial statements, analyze transactions, and evaluate business performance. Emphasis is placed on the role of accounting in decision-making for both internal and external users. Topics include accrual accounting, internal controls, inventory, receivables, long-lived assets, and liabilities, with a focus on ethical practices and real-world applications. Corequisites: No prior knowledge of accounting is required, but students should be comfortable with basic numeracy and open to learning foundational financial concepts through practical application.
