Sheridan McVean

Sheridan McVean has more than 30 years of marketing, integrated marketing communications, and public relations experience. As an entrepreneur, he has owned several businesses including an integrated marketing communications firm, a public relations consultancy and a private capital management firm. In addition, he has worked in the Office of the Premier of Alberta, with Hill + Knowlton Strategies, and with the Calgary Homeless Foundation. His clients have included: Cisco Systems, Deloitte, Husky, McCain Foods, Microsoft, Shell, Suncor, WestJet, the governments of Canada and Alberta, numerous non-profit organizations, as well as small and medium sized entrepreneurial businesses.

Experience

McVean is the president of McVean Communications Inc., a communications strategy firm that creates value for clients using strategic communications, integrated marketing communications, and issues and reputation management. He is a contributing author to Fundamentals of Public Relations and Marketing Communications in Canada, published by the University of Alberta Press. McVean also teaches at Mount Royal University in the Faculty of Communications Studies and the University of Calgary in the Faculty of Continuing Education.

McVean has a Certificate of Accreditation (APR) from Canadian Public Relations Society. In 2017, he was also selected as a member of the College of Fellows of the Canadian Public Relations Society.
