Russ Wilde is an experienced post-secondary instructor, researcher, and leader who has followed a scholar-practitioner approach throughout his career in higher education. Beyond his primary roles as an educator and leader, most of Dr. Wilde’s scholarly activity has been directed at the development of innovative practice within higher education, especially online program and service delivery.
More recently, Wilde has been engaged in pilots of hybrid flexible delivery program models designed to provide students with multiple options for engagement through asynchronous and synchronous online activity combined with face-to-face instruction and the development of effective microcredential programs to address reskilling and upskilling initiatives.
Experience
Over the past 20 years, Russ has held multiple teaching, administrative, and management positions with oversight of online learning and educational technology, curriculum development, program quality assurance, faculty development, library services, academic support services, and applied research leadership within the Alberta post-secondary system. Prior to joining RRU, he served as Dean, Research and Innovation at Bow Valley College in Calgary, Alberta.
