Jenny is an associate professor and crisis prevention and intervention program coordinator in the School of Human Services at SUNY Empire University and lecturer in the School of Humanitarian Studies' master's program. 

In addition to her academic experience, she worked several years in the international and domestic humanitarian and disaster field including as deputy director in the Women’s Protection and Empowerment Technical Unit and regional director for resettlement and integration at the International Rescue Committee. 

She also worked as director of human services at Nassau County Office of Emergency Management and manager for City of New York. Jenny has worked on several local disasters and crises as well as federally declared disasters such as 9/11, 2003 Blackout, and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. She got her start in human services as a HIV community liaison worker in New York City.

Experience

Jenny has more than 25 years of experience in the government, non-governmental and academic sectors. Her areas of expertise are crisis intervention, disaster human services, humanitarian aid, refugees, vulnerable/special needs populations, resiliency, and community rebuilding and recovery.
