Hatley Castle lit up at night with the yellow and blue colours of the Ukrainian flag.

Royal Roads University joins people around the world in using the colours of Ukraine’s national flag as a sign of support for the war-stricken country.

 “We stand with and among those who are working to end this war, and all wars. And we stand with everyone committed to restoring democracy and peace in Ukraine,” said President Philip Steenkamp in the Goldsteam News Gazette.

Royal Roads has lit the south side of Hatley Castle in yellow and blue from dusk to dawn, as a visual expression of deep sorrow and outrage over the attack on Ukraine, and in solidarity with its people.

You can view the light display from dusk to dawn, March 8 to 21, 2022, on the south side of Hatley Castle (facing the Esquimalt Lagoon).
