Session #2: Academic Anxiety

*As we enter the spring season and celebrate Earth week, RRU Counsellors will highlight aspects of Nature-based therapy during this series.*

This session will focus on topics such as imposter syndrome, procrastination, public speaking fears and exam anxiety.

Facilitated by RRU Counsellors, these free psychoeducational support group sessions will provide a safe and confidential space to share and connect with others around common experiences of anxiety. The sessions will also provide strategies to help manage stress and anxiety symptoms, and support choices to improve daily habits and academic performance.

In addition to nature-based therapy approaches, Counsellors will draw on aspects of Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Format for each session:

  • Check-in
  • Brief Grounding Exercise
  • Discussion Questions & Sharing Experiences
  • Strategies, Coping skills and Goal Setting
  • Check-out
