Join us for the return of in-person Royal Roads University Library Showcase exhibits at a launch event with Dr. matthew heinz, professor in the College of Interdisciplinary Studies at RRU and Dr. Robert Beringer, assistant professor in the School of Public Health and Social Policy at UVic. heinz and Beringer will discuss their research, Aging with Dignity: 2SLGBTQI+ Seniors in British Columbia, which will be shared as part of the Library Showcase, beginning on August 4.

Aging with Dignity, a project in partnership with Dignity Seniors Society, looks at the major unmet needs of 2SLGBTQI+ seniors in BC. They found that the most prevalent concerns of this community are access to culturally competent healthcare, fear of loss of mobility and independence, and loneliness and lack of community. Learn more about the needs of 2SLGBTQI+ seniors and the recommendations generated to help address them during the event on August 4.

All are welcome to attend the event and showcase. If you cannot attend the launch event, you can visit the exhibit in the RRU Library showcase space any time during hours of operation from August 4 to September 15, 2023.
