Introduces new skills and knowledge, including a focus on negotiation skills, innovation, culture and strategic planning and implementation. Students will work in teams to analyze, discuss, and brainstorm ways that the parties to the opportunity can create a mutually beneficial and sustainable outcome that supports the long-term prosperity of the Nation and their partners. The principles of problem-based learning will be observed and close collaboration between team members and between teams and mentors will be required. Students will utilize a design thinking innovation framework to create new ideas and approaches that go beyond past agreements and thinking to expand the range of possible outcomes and benefits to be developed through successful partnerships. Designed to enable program participants to integrate the knowledge gained from the previous courses, their personal experiences and the knowledge and experience of course facilitators and partners. After an online introduction to negotiations theory and strategic planning, students will adopt roles as members of parties conducting strategic planning for an economic development opportunity that connects the Nation together with private sector project proponents and government. *pending approval
