Employs a Design Thinking framework to help students explore social issues and adopt a changemaking lens to have an impact. Explores local issues through the lens of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, then inspires action through a human-centered process that includes primary and secondary research, problem finding, idea generation, and prototyping. In-class workshops and discussions, in addition to field work with local stakeholders and organizations, will provide the backbone course structure, that will result in an action plan to improve our community. Prerequisite: SOSC199.
