Academic Writing for Indigenous Environmental Leaders

This course was prompted by the students in the first cohort who told me that they had never learned to write and that it would be necessary for their future education. The course therefore will teach writing and communication skills for environmental leaders and will prepare students for future education at undergraduate and graduate levels. While it will focus on writing in an academic and or administrative setting it will also respect and honour the skills that students have developed as part of their Indigenous education in an oral tradition and will be taught in the context of Indigenous environmental knowledge.
