• Geoffrey Bird, professor of Communication and Culture, was featured in Victoria News for the screening of his film Story Pole: Indigenous Veterans and the Tallest Totem in the World. The article also highlights RRU’s Remembrance Day ceremony.  

• Jaigris Hodson, Canada Research Chair in Digital Misinformation, Polarization and Anti-Social Media, was featured in World News about her research into what pushes people to online extremes. 

• Thomas Homer-Dixon, executive director of the Cascade Institute was featured in the New York Times about humanity entering the Polycene. He was also a featured speaker at the Accelerator for Systemic Risk Assessment sharing findings of Cascade Institute’s Polycrisis Core Model. 

• Julie MacArthur, Canada Research Chair in Reimagining Capitalism was featured in Education News about how a low-carbon transition could drive a shift to energy democracy. 

• Melinda Quintero, associate professor in tourism and hospitality management, was featured in Education News for receiving the Governor General’s Gold Medal for her map of First Nations heritage sites.
