The School of Leadership Studies wishes to thank Our Cowichan Communities Health Network for their engagement as our Master of Arts in Leadership, Health Specialization 2022 Leadership Challenge™ sponsoring organization.
The purpose of the Leadership Challenge™ is to create a mutually beneficial learning experience for a local organization and graduate students in the first year of their Master of Arts in Leadership. To create this learning experience, some inquiry with the organizational sponsor is necessary and we are grateful to Cindy Lise, the Regional Coordinator and participating members of the Our Cowichan Communities Health Network Team for their generous commitment of time and voluntary engagement in this activity.
The Our Cowichan Communities Health Network is a locally formed group of individuals and organizations representing the diverse peoples of the Cowichan Communities and network members strive to optimize the health and wellbeing of all citizens in Cowichan Region by:
- Exploring issues related to health
- Identifying concerns that can either improve or impede achieving optimum health
- Planning actions that enhance the quality of life through education, healthy living, health care and health services delivery
- Ensuring the community's voice is heard on matters related to health and wellness.
The Our Cowichan Communities Health Network engaged with graduate students to explore the question: What leadership strategies might assist the leaders of Our Cowichan Communities Health Network to better understand the impact the network is having on the communities and partner organizations while meeting the growing needs of the diverse population within the current funding framework?
