Fall grads take home total of 102 awards

Royal Roads University congratulates the graduating class of Fall 2022 and salutes the achievements of students for academic excellence and extraordinary contributions to the classroom and beyond. This November, graduating students will receive a total of 102 awards, 85 of which are distinguished.

Governor General’s Gold Medal

Master of Global Management graduate Lawrence Jarikre receives the Governor General’s Gold Medal, in recognition for his thesis, Would an industry-wide shift from commission and trailing commission compensation models be advantageous for investors, Financial Advisors and their employers. His high academic achievement is also recognized with the Royal Roads Founders’ Award. Read his story and learn more about his award-winning thesis.

Governor General’s Silver Medal

The Governor General’s Silver Medal, presented to the graduating student who achieved the highest academic standing upon graduation from a bachelor's degree program this year, is awarded to Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies graduate, Laura Todd. Todd’s love of ideas and commitment to learning carried her through her academic journey where she tenaciously explored concepts of social justice. Her high academic achievement is also recognized with both the Chancellor’s and President’s Scholar awards.

Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation

Taylar Bouwmeester is this year’s recipient of The Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation. Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies graduate is recognized for her work to make digital healthcare more accessible and inclusive.
