Wildlife and pest management
Insects or rodents inside buildings
If you notice an insect or rodent issue indoors, please call the urgent assistance number listed above (for urgent issues) or submit a service request for support.
Injured or deceased wildlife on campus
If you come across an injured animal or animal remains, do not touch or or attempt to move it. Immediately call the urgent assistance number for appropriate handling.
Integrated pest management program
Our integrated pest management program is designed to support healthy vegetation while minimizing environmental impact. This approach uses effective, efficient, and environmentally responsible methods to manage weeds.
This program reduces pesticide use by prioritizing long-term vegetation health and sustainability and incorporating practices such as using organic compost instead of chemical fertilizers in campus green spaces and gardens.
Snow and ice management
Snow and ice removal on Royal Roads campuses is carried out based on the type and volume of snowfall. Full clearing of roads, parking lots, walkways, and sidewalks may take up to 24 hours following a snowfall.
If an area remains uncleared after 24 hours, or if you notice a particularly slippery spot in a high-traffic area that needs urgent attention, please contact us using the urgent assistance number listed above.
When needed, ice melt is applied to sidewalks and building entryways twice daily—once in the morning and again in the afternoon—to help prevent slips and ensure safe access.
