If you are interested in living off-campus in Sydney, it is highly recommended you arrive in Sydney at least a few days before orientation to give yourself the best chance of finding something suitable. The most common and affordable form of off-campus housing is 'share accommodation' - whereby you rent a room within an existing home and share with others.
Check out popular real estate listing websites in Australia, including Domain and Realestate.com.au. Due to the length of exchange semesters, it can be difficult to find off-campus housing that is suitable and facilitates a shorter residency period.
With a student population of 45,000, there is always something happening at the university. Join one of the 250 student social or sport clubs and meet new people. Board games, foodie nights, yoga, there are numerous options to keep you busy. Get outdoors and visit over 100kms of coastline and beaches with student trips available to participate in. Sydney also has Australia’s largest airport and is the central hub for train transportation throughout the country.
