Consolidating and Co-Designing a Comprehensive Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Care and Support Program Plan with AYAs and Care Allies in British Columbia/Yukon

In partnership with AYAs and care allies the aim of this Rix Family Foundation-funded project is to create and finalize an AYA cancer care and support plan for BC/Yukon.

This project involves working in partnership with AYAs and care allies to create and finalize an AYA cancer care and support plan for BC/Yukon. We will begin by summarizing our learnings to identify a rationale for change along with guiding principles and key priorities. We will then share these learnings with AYAs and care allies and facilitate engagements to identify how key priorities can be addressed/implemented at four levels: cancer care system, community, policy and advocacy, and amongst AYAs themselves; and establish a corresponding monitoring and evaluation framework.

During the course of the project, we will work with AYAs and care allies to co-design, implement and evaluate pilot initiatives to support changes in AYA cancer care and support. Through support from the Rix Family Foundation, we will specifically identify and explore pilot initiatives at the levels of community and AYAs, while continuing to engage with care allies and leadership at the cancer care system and policy and advocacy levels.
