Peace across global systems: Indigenous and other non-Western wisdom traditions as a catalyst for transformation

Wanda Krause was granted Research and Professional Development funds for presentation on wisdom that can catalyze transformation to support global compassion, sustainability, and peace.

This symposium inquires into how wisdom may catalyze transformation in a global systems context to support peace. Presentations introduce some wisdom traditions, such as those guiding Lakota Indigenous peoples, Sufism, and Ubuntu. Case study examples provide direction for understanding how these wisdoms can support peace. The objective is to generate thought, experience, and ideas from one’s own work and practice towards creating a more civil, compassionate, sustainable, and peaceful world. The intended outcomes include greater understanding of wisdom traditions that can inform and support practice for peace that work with and focus on inner peace and relationship with others.
