Snowy bridge in Japanese Gardens

Here’s what’s open and when at our Colwood and Langford campuses over the winter break. We wish you a safe and happy holiday season and look forward to seeing you in 2026! 

RRU Langford

RRU Langford, John Horgan Campus will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 25 to Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. During the closure, services and study spaces will not be available. Regular hours and services resume Jan. 2.

Student Commons

The Student Commons will close for the holiday break from Thursday, Dec. 25 to Thursday, Jan. 1 inclusive. It will operate with reduced hours as follows.

  • Mon. Dec. 15 – Fri. Dec. 19: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Sat. Dec. 20: noon - 6 p.m.
  • Mon. Dec. 22- Tues. Dec. 23: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Weds. Dec. 24: 8 a.m. - noon

RRU Colwood

Welcome Desk

Beginning Sat., Dec. 7, the Welcome Desk will be closed on weekends. For breakout room access on weekends, please contact Campus Security. The Welcome Desk will close for the holiday break Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. Regular hours resume on January 2, 2026.

Recreation Centre

The Rec Centre is open weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., weekends from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and holidays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The centre will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25.

Library

The Library will close for the holiday break from Thursday, Dec. 25 to Thursday, Jan. 1 inclusive. It will operate with reduced hours as follows.

  • Mon. Dec. 15 – Fri. Dec. 19: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Sat. Dec. 20 - Sun. Dec. 21: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Mon. Dec. 22- Tues. Dec. 23: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Weds. Dec. 24: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

IT Services

The IT Services Helpdesk is closed from Thursday, Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. Regular hours of operation resume Jan. 2, 2026.

Campus Store

The Campus Store will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 25 to Thursday, Jan. 1. Regular hours will resume January 2, 2026. Shop anytime online.

Habitat

From Dec. 1 to 23, Habitat closes at 2:30 p.m. and no daily specials will be offered during that time. On Dec. 24, grab and go items will be available until closing at noon. It will then be closed through Jan. 4. Regular hours of operation resume Monday, Jan. 5.

Royal Roads Gardens

The gardens are open every day from 10 a.m. to dusk.
