RRU helped me better understand who I am as a person and as a leader.

"Serving others has always been a priority for me.

I spent 15 years on the frontlines helping patients as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and paramedic. As my career progressed, I also began to develop a strong desire to serve my colleagues. But I lacked a formal leadership skillset, which made it challenging to get the jobs I wanted.

I couldn’t afford to have my career and income stop to pursue higher education, so when I discovered the Royal Roads Master of Arts in Leadership, Health Specialization program, I knew I’d found what I was looking for. It fit with my goals and with the rest of my life. I acquired a top-quality education, mostly from my own home, while continuing to work full-time.

I can now engage in strategic planning effectively, have a better vision of systems and my role within them, and I’m more comfortable in my own skin as a leader. This understanding has allowed me to lead with authenticity and with great confidence.

I know that my Royal Roads education will continue to serve me well as I strive to better serve others."
