Communities of Practice and Interdisciplinary Faculty Development

Rebecca Wilson-Mah was awarded funding through a SSHRC grant to explore faculty members’ experiences with communities of practice in a university.

This project will further explore and develop doctoral thesis research completed in June 2020. My qualitative case study explored faculty members’ experiences in three faculty-initiated and organized communities of practice (CoP) in a university. The purpose of this proposal is to return to the study data, complete further data collection and disseminate the findings to scholars and practitioners in higher education with a particular focus on interdisciplinary faculty development.
