Master of Arts in Leadership,  2021

Chelsey De Groot, MAL 2021

The program challenged me to become the best version of myself, both as a person and as a leader.

Choosing Royal Roads was an easy decision for me, thanks to its blended learning option. As a single mother and a busy professional, attending a program that required in-person attendance simply wasn't feasible. Royal Roads offered the perfect balance of flexibility and academic rigour.

One of the most memorable moments of my program was the personal growth I experienced while spending time on campus. Walking Charlie's Trail and reflecting beside the ocean provided the ideal environment for introspection. I'll never forget the wise words of an instructor who said, "It's not about selling yourself, it's about owning yourself." That message has stayed with me ever since.

Personally and professionally, my time at Royal Roads has been transformative. The Master of Arts in Leadership program challenged me to become the best version of myself, both as a person and as a leader. Graduating from this program, I emerged as a completely different individual, equipped with invaluable skills and insights. The connections I formed with my colleagues have been profound, and I'm grateful to be part of their leadership journey.

To anyone considering Royal Roads, my advice is simple: apply. This place truly lives up to its promise of being life-changing. Don't hesitate; it will be one of the best decisions you ever make.
