Accessibility Committee

Angela is honoured to bring her skills, unwavering passion and personal commitment to the Accessibility Committee.

As someone with a permanent disability – a colostomy – she has experienced firsthand the challenges and obstacles that individuals with similar conditions encounter daily. This personal experience has opened her eyes and ignited a fire within her to drive meaningful change and further amplify the voices of those that tend to go unheard.

Through her involvement with ostomy groups, she has listened, learned and engaged in raising awareness about the physical, emotional and financial hurdles that come with a colostomy.

She initiated a letter writing campaign in Spring to advocate for improved medical coverage for essential supplies, recognizing that many ostomates do not have insurance to cover the cost of the required supplies and may not meet their provincial medical plan criteria.

In being a member of this committee, Angela is prepared to draw upon her personal experiences to show her commitment to accessibility issues and work to improve the well-being of individuals with disabilities.

She believes that every individual deserves access to resources to empower them to lead a life with dignity and purpose. With this committee, she believes that together, they can create a more inclusive tomorrow.
