Susan Fox

Business

Susan Fox (she/her) has worked for over 20 years with various social purpose organizations, foundations, community planning tables and projects at the local and provincial level dedicated to addressing the change needed to shift systems within organizations and in communities. Her particular interest is social change and management in organizations in the context of rural and remote communities. She brings her passion and enthusiasm for engagement, change, and social impact to her work at Royal Roads University. 

Experience

Fox has over 20 years of experience in executive social purpose organization leadership, stakeholder engagement, change and project management, and social entrepreneurship. Fox has managed project of various scale and scope from change and social impact to capital infrastructure. Fox has worked as a Community Developer and management consult with organizations such as the Canadian Mental Health Association, Divisions of Family Practice, Doctors of BC, and the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Additionally, Fox has served as a director and advisor to various non profit boards including the Vancouver Foundation where she currently acts as a Systems Change Advisor.

Fox has presented on social impact and has mentored students completing BCom and MBA projects, as well has been fortunate to be a research assistant to Dr. Frances Jorgensen working on projects focused on COVID-19, health care workers, incivility and equity deserving groups. Currently, Fox is an advisor to students working on their MBA major Organizational Management Project, and is an instructor for Change Management at RRU in the MBA program. 

Fox is a Hollyhock Social Venture Institute Alumna and Scholarship recipient (2018), and the recipient of the EC Douglass Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies Scholarship (2018) award of $10,000 for which she competed by business pitch in RRU’s intimidating version of Dragon’s Den, with which she subsequently launched a social enterprise designed to empower families with neurodiverse children.
