Stephen Roughley

Tourism & Hospitality Management

Stephen Roughley is a seasoned hotelier with more than 30 years of experience, including senior leadership roles with Marriott, Four Seasons and Delta Hotels in Canada, USA and the Caribbean.

He also had the pleasure of being the opening general manager of an independent, world-class resort in Portugal. 

Roughley is a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Commerce (hospitality and tourism management). He also received advanced training at the University of Guelph’s Advanced Management Program for the Hospitality Industry.

Actively involved in business and community, Roughley has held industry and association board positions including the British Columbia Hotel Association, Alliance of Beverage Licensees, Destination Greater Victoria, Royal Roads Advisory Council and Skal Victoria (president).

Experience

Roughley is a dedicated executive in hospitality and management, experienced in delivering service excellence with a propensity to enlist the support, talents and enthusiasm of a diverse team.

He is results-oriented and has a focus on vision and developing strategic success. Roughley has extensive experience in associate and guest satisfaction, along with expertise in brand coupled with a global knowledge of people resources, hotel and resort operations, food and beverage, sales, marketing, revenue management and financial performance
