Award-winning public sector program developer and bottom line oriented marketing leader with a consistent history of delivering multiple complex projects on-time and within budget. Change agent with the ability to cultivate productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective manager, adept at mentoring direct reports and leading multi-disciplinary teams.   She uses this practical experience to teach business courses at Royal Roads University. Walker’s doctoral research focus is understanding what is preventing more companies in Canada from initiating reconciliation actions with Indigenous peoples impacted by their operations.

Experience

Walker is a 20+ year marketing, product development and project management veteran with extensive experience in a variety of industries including publishing, consumer-packaged goods, energy, telecommunications and recreation/tourism in various sectors. 

She is an expert in leadership, business strategy, change management, marketing and project management. In 2012, Walker opened Routefinder Consulting, a full-service management consultancy specializing in strategic and operations planning. Currently, she is Routefinder Consulting’s president and principal consultant.

Memberships and Committees

Walker was on the Board of Directors for The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) as VP of Sections (Jan 2011 – May 2016).  Walker spent 10 years leading mountaineering trips for the ACC throughout North America and organizing expeditions to remote areas of the Arctic, Antarctic, Asia/Himalayas, Europe, and South America and western North America.  She received the Silver Rope for Leadership Award (2014) and the Distinguished Service Award (2010) from the ACC.

Walker was on the Board of Directors of the Cochrane and Area Humane Society from 2015 – 2017.
