Mohsen Rana began his career in 2008 working in progressive accounting and finance roles for design firms engaged in engineering services in the energy and renewables, infrastructure and real estate.

After his undergraduate degree in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics, he has acquired certifications in accountancy from the UK (ACCA), USA (CMA) and Canada (CPA).

His area of expertise lies in management accounting and commercial management of engineering projects; specifically working on providing insights on the key drivers of the business and areas of concern.

He specializes in management accounting, SOX compliance, financial reporting, and consolidation under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAB).

Over the years he has assisted in the review and implementation of various International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) across businesses as well as crown corporations.

Experience

Mohsen is currently working as a Finance Manager for Stantec which was rated the most sustainable company in North America in 2021 by Corporate Knights.

Over the years, he has worked for multi-nationals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi head quartered out of Australia, Singapore, United Kingdom and Denmark.

His work stints have included working for one of the largest oil operators and the Ministry of Finance, British Columbia.
