Experience

After designing and teaching Sustainability 12 and the Sustainability Framework for the Ministry of Education in 2008, Mitchell co-founded the Institute for Global Solutions program at Claremont Secondary in 2012.IGS is an interdisciplinary model of education that aims to empower learners, inspire action, and accelerate the transition towards a more equitable and resilient future. What began as a niche course with just 23 students involved has expanded into an offering that includes nearly 200 annual learners.

Mitchell also instructs in the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria.
